CPC-200, Colby's co-lead small molecule is a molecularly-targeted oxidase enzyme inhibitor drug which is being developed for a Phase l/lla clinical trial in 2010 as a therapeutic drug for the treatment of high risk solid cancer patients with tumors recurring after surgical or radiation de-bulking of the primary tumor.
CPC-200 is a synthetic drug that irrversably binds to and inactivates the oxidase enzyme producing hydrogen peroxide in the cell cytoplasm of several types of solid tumors with unmet medical needs. Therapeutic treatment with CPC-200 in experimental mouse models of solid cancers show a significant overall survival benefit and decreased time to tumor progression.
